Whitewater rafting is a FANTASTIC way to see the Adirondacks and get connected with classmates. This three-day/two-night experience starts out on rafting down class III rapids on day one, followed by your choice of either hiking or fishing on day two. Day three will continue with more whitewater rafting. This trip will entail camping riverside at night in tents without bathroom facilities – a real outdoor experience. Please bring your fishing pole if you are interested in fishing.
During this adventure each person becomes an integral part of a team that must work collaboratively to overcome challenges such as lighting a fire, cooking meals, and transporting your gear. Participants are encouraged to come prepared for an amazing camping experience. In addition, participants are requested to bring their own sleeping bag, pad, and backpack. A limited amount of gear is available for loan. Please contact the Office of the First-Year Experience at (518) 276-8632 for more information if gear is needed.
“Whitewater rafting was the most fun I’ve had in years. Everything ran smoothly, the people were friendly, the whole trip was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had.”
